Instructions for the course

Welcome!

This course has been designed for acupuncturists who have spent only a few hours of study using microsystems acupuncture. The use of microsystem acupuncture has been evolving since its more focussed use in the 70s. Effects are seen almost instantly enabling practitioners to evaluate and adjust their treatments to gain better results.

We will cover the subject in its widest form - not just for detox. Pain relief such as headaches or muscular skeletal issues will, of course, be a focus. The benefit that this method of acupuncture enables it to be easily integrated with other therapies is a plus.

We will advance those who currently use only use acupuncture with western acupuncture concepts. Those with TCM knowledge will be able to explore how this can be adapted for the use of auricular acupuncture.

The current video lectures are from November 2020 Certificate Foundation training. Final Cut versions specific for this course will be uploaded soon. More lectures to develop each subject area will be added. Ideally these will be in 1 hour sections and changes will be made to the planning tool once all is complete. Students will be notified when these are ready.

You will retain indefinite access to this course and can return to it at any time after completion.

Amanda will open up a special study folder for you on Dropbox where you can post assignments and other material for feedback.

The course is supported by live Q&A sessions which will be published on the website or arranged with small study groups.

4 hours of supervised practise in included with supplemental if individuals require additional support (at no further charge). Your learning outcome is what matters!

You will receive a silicon rubber ear and some sample needles to use as you practice alongside Amanda and also to keep. We can supply materials if you wish moving forward.

You will also receive a Course Planning Tool so you can plot your progress.

Please note that in your notes set some slides are blank or just have headings. Please draw along with Amanda as she instructs you. Practical and applied training is an important part of learning.

Please note the hours allocated for the certificate include assignment time (2 hrs) Online live clinical (4hrs) Online theory study in which you can practice along with the videos (18 hrs).

Amanda will assess your skills and would require a minimum of 25 hrs of case study - pandemic strategies will be discussed to cover this. From the Core Curriculum set in 2019

8.1

A minimum of 5 case studies (25 treatments) must be completed. The written up case studies must provide evidence of

a) Follow up and progressed treatment of 5 clients.

b) Feedback from client and reflective journal to illustrate learning experience and referenced clinical experience.

All hours of study will be allocated to the final certificate. So, the more demonstrated study you do (using your study folder) the more hours you will receive on your certificate.

Provision has been allowed for considering existing anatomy & physiology (compulsory) and clinical skills already in place. This course is, therefore, not applicable to those new to acupuncture. Our 200 hour Certificate course will apply to such students.

Amanda hopes you enjoy your studies with her and be assured of nurture and support throughout. She looks forward to seeing you on Zoom and hopefully in person to attend further clinical study once it is safe to do so.

The video below was filmed and edited using professional software and has been loaded onto YouTube. Sadly the subtitles have not shown. I just wanted to correct to say the bonus live clinical sessions with guided learning and case study will be a minimum of 4 hours and may stretch across 4 days - arranged with each group. I may change this depending on the arising achievement of learning outcomes.

Most of the footage you will see will be auto-start and not on YouTube.

For those watching who are not enrolled, please feel free to contact us direct for more information [email protected]. We look forward to assisting you.
